Tributes
James “Jim” Bernard Pelzer, age 89, of Burlington, KY, entered into
eternal life on Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Wulfeck Pelzer; his parents Edward and Verna Pelzer; his brother Jack Pelzer; his sister Mary Ann Harter; and granddaughter Gina Kenkel. Jim served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was a faithful and longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Jim worked as a meat cutter at his family’s market in Fort Thomas and retired with IGA grocery stores where he was passionate about treating his customers with kindness and providing top-shelf service. Jim is survived by his wife Viola Sandfoss Cauvin Pelzer; his children Kevin (Jacque) Pelzer, Lori Eversole, and Mary (David) Stoeckle; his step-daughters: Sandy (Jack) Kenkel, Sharon Cecil, Marian (Joe) Krogman, and Jennifer (Brandan) Bamfield; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as many family members and friends. Jim was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at
Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY.
Funeral Mass will follow visitation at 12:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in
Burlington, KY.
Interment to follow at Highland Cemetery Mausoleum in Ft. Mitchell, KY
