Gary Lee Blanchet, 71, of Florence, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. Gary was an electrician for IBEW Local Union 212 and in retirement worked for the TSA for about 5 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and he was a member of St. Paul’s Church Senior Citizen Club. Gary had a wonderful sense of humor and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Cincinnati Reds, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Cincinnati Bengals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy (nee Mittendorf) Blanchet. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Blanchet of Florence, KY; his children: Karen (Larry) Fisher of Florence, KY, and Michael E. Blanchet of Elsmere, KY; and his brothers: Bob (Joyce) Blanchet of Crestview Hills, KY, Ron (Lois) Blanchet of Wilder, KY, Dave (Debbie) Blanchet of Florence, KY, and Gene (Ellie) Blanchet of Southgate, KY. Gary also leaves behind his grandchildren: Chase, Joshua, Holly, Emmy, Dakota, and Michael; and his great-grandson, Isaiah. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 4PM-7PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Florence, KY. Burial at St. Stephen Cemetery in Southgate, KY. I am so sorry for your loss. Gary was a good person and all around good guy. Gary was my motor seargent at the Army Reserves in Fort Thomas. As it turnedout Gary was an electrican and I am a pipefitter. We would run into each other on different jobs. He will be missed
