Catherine “Kay” Fenninger

Obituary
Condolences

Catherine “Kay” Fenninger, of Erlanger, formerly of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with Jesus on August 29, 2017. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Kay grew up in a large family with nine siblings.  She met and married the love of her life, Carl Fenninger.  Together they raised two daughters, and created a good life. Kay taught herself how to sew and passed on some of her knowledge to her grandchildren. She was also known as one of the best apple pie and chocolate chip cookie makers around. Her pies are legendary in the family, and she delighted in sharing those recipes with her daughters and granddaughters. Kay is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Fenninger; child, Kathy Lynn; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She will be remembered with love by those who survive her; daughters, Pat (Art) DiMartile and Janet (Michael) Romanowski; grandchildren, Jessica (Nathan) Bargen, Victoria DiMartile, Claire (Cameron) Hershberger, Max, Spencer and Molly Romanowski; and great-grandchild Bruno Bargen. Visitation will be at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY on September 2 from 1:30PM – 2:30PM with a service to follow. Burial will take place at a later date in Kinzers, PA. Please leave your condolences for the family.

Heartfelt Memories

Nana/Kay was always thoughtful to ask us how we were doing and how long we were staying each time we saw her. We would get nice and close to respond so she could hear us. 😉 We would often tell her how amazing she was doing at her age. Kay would then begin to share all her ailments. She really was amazing living on her own and doing for herself despite any ailments.

David and I are so thankful to have known Kay. We send our sincere condolences and love to our dear friends and Kentucky family, the DiMartile’s, and to all the extended family who we have met over the years.

Our God in heaven will care for Nana/Kay now.

Loving prayers and condolences, David and Doreen Buck

Patti, you were an amazingly faithful daughter and caregiver. There is no doubt that you supported and extended your mom’s life on earth immeasurably.
