Obituary
Condolences

Mr. Jeffrey A. Smalley of Batavia, OH, died at St. Elizabeth Hospice on Saturday, October 14, 2017, after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was 54 years old.  Jeff was born on June 19, 1963, to James and Eva Smalley of Southgate, KY. From a young age, Jeff was always inquisitive. He joked that if “Google” had been around when he was younger, it would have made his dad’s life much easier. Jeff loved working with his clients, helping people with their computer issues, watching UK basketball, and playing golf. He began Vorto, Inc., his own web, print, and video business in 2008, and through his business contacts, he developed lasting friendships across the United States.  Jeff is survived by his mother, Eva G. (Barney) Smalley of Cold Spring, KY; his sister, Debbie Smalley (Larry Halenkamp) of Ft. Thomas, KY; his uncle, Brian (Tiffany) Cook, and nephews Wyatt and Hank of Singapore. He is preceded in death by his father, James Smalley of Cold Spring, KY.  At Jeff’s request, his body will be donated to the Barrett Cancer Center, University of Cincinnati, for the advancement of science; therefore, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Elizabeth Hospice. Donations can be made on-line or by calling the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation at (859) 301-3920, requesting to donate to Hospice.

With sympathy for Smalley family:

I wish to express my sincerest sympathy to the Smalley family and friends because of losing Jeff recently in death, way too soon. When our loved ones fall asleep in death, the pain and grief seems unbearable. Our loving God Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) understands how we feel and he comforts us by means of his word the Bible. Psalm 34: 18 tells us: “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40 and John 11:23-25) You are in my prayers.

Oops! Jeff is laughing!

Jeff was uncle to Brian, not that Brian was his uncle. Stress at its best in trying to be grammatically correct!
