Chris Fieger

Obituary
Condolences

Chris Fieger passed away on October 14, 2017 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marcella Fieger and brother, Chuck Fieger. Chris had a wonderful childhood in Crescent Springs along with 12 siblings. He graduated from Covington Catholic in 1961 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Villa Madonna College. The following year Chris joined the Marine Corps where he bravely served his country in the Vietnam war, piloting a Grumman A-6 Intruder fighter jet. Following his service, Chris began a career in sales where he made many lifelong friends.  In 1993, he married Char, the love of his life, and together they raised two children, Michael and Jamie. Chris was diagnosed in 2002 with a rare disease, amyloidosis, but that did not prevent him from living his life to the fullest. He continued doing what he loved most: spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf. Chris’ memory will live on through those who survive him: wife, Char Fieger; children, Michael (Amanda) Johannemann and Jamie (Ryan) Grubish; Grandchildren, Ella Dixon and Samantha, Frances and William Grubish; sisters, Claire (Bob) Moriconi, Marcia Derks, Mary Jo DeVillez, Cathy Skyrm, Lynn (Dale) McPhillips and Beth McMillian; brothers, Steve (Marianne) Fieger, Ken (Peggy) Fieger, Jerry (Mary) Fieger, Dick Fieger and Mark (Carma) Fieger; thirty-four nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament in Ft. Mitchell on Friday, October 20, from 4-6pm with a Mass to follow. Burial at St. John Cemetery on Saturday at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Chris Fieger’s honor to be used for his grandchildren’s college education. Donations can be made at any local Fifth Third Bank branch. Please leave any words of comfort for the family under condolences.

Chris Fieger

,

The Professional Salesman

Chris was the consummate paper & packaging salesman. We worked together when I was a mill rep for Sealed Air and Chris sold for Chatfield Paper (later Mead, later Zellerback, later Xpedx, later Veritiv, etc. etc). I will never forget when we were making a call on Formica in Cincinnati and while waiting in the lobby for our contact to come out, we concluded that a vote for Ross Perot was a vote for Bill Clinton and those who voted for Perot (like my wife) would take votes away from Bush and would get Clinton elected president. And that’s exactly what happened.
So sorry for your loss but happy his suffering is over.

Late, but heartfelt condolences

Char,
I was sorry to learn that Chris passed away last October. I’m glad we had a chance to reconnect in Hilton Head last year after losing track of each other for 47 years. I’ll always remember him as a young Marine aviator and will miss him. You have my deepest sympathy.
Regards,
Dave Reynolds

So sorry

Sorry we can’t be with you in this time of sorrow, Chris was always a congenial man, will always remember the first time we met him: you just started dating each other; you and Chis, Pat and I; just happened to be at the same chinese restaurant (can’t remember the name) out there on the Dixie near Lytle Ave. near where we lived at the time. Other great memories exist also.
Prayers and love are sent your way.
