Tributes
Faith. Family. Pets. Pittsburgh. Troop. Travel. How would you pull off an amazing 72 years of a life well lived? Robert “Bob” Allen Cartwright lived it through those six words.
Born and raised in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Bob graduated with degrees from Penn State and the University of Akron in Mechanical Engineering. Bob began his career as a draftsman and retired as an accomplished Project Manager, working on such signature projects as the Ford Motor Company Wixom Plant, US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, and the Assent in Covington. Holding multiple leadership roles in the churches he attended, Bob was an active member of Burlington First Church of Christ and had a passion for missions, attending mission trips on four continents. Also, Bob was an EMT and assistant director of Seville-Guilford EMS. He later used these medical skills on various medical mission trips.
“Mr. Bob”, an Eagle Scout, loved being an active role model and positive influence for members and families of Boy Scout Troop 724, as well as the elementary children at Burlington First Church. Bob was always willing to help others with a wide variety of work any time he was asked. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with family, following his Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates from his favorite chair, and cuddling with his dogs.
Bob now worships with his father Robert “Pop” Cartwright and his Brother-in-Law, John Davila, in Heaven. Carrying on his memory is Marilyn, his wife of 50 years, four children; Catherine McCay (Steve), Robert E. Cartwright (Dena), Christina Leamon (Jason), and Cynthia Littleton (Jeremiah); four grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Nicholas, and Jenna. Also, Bob leaves behind his mother, Ethel Hill Cartwright, his sister, Carol Sue Davila, brother-in-law, Gary Meglich (Joyce) and many nieces and nephews.
Bob’s family is celebrating his legacy with a private service at home, with hopes of having a celebration of life gathering at a later date. Loving memories and condolences may be posted at www.linnemannfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers and gifts, consider donating to Master Provisions, FAME, or First Church Impact Mission – Ghana. Donations can be made through Linnemann Family Funeral Home, Burlington, KY.
