Collins Family

So sorry for your loss! Harry was a great person. I worked with him at East Bend. He always kept us laughing.

my Brother in law

I was very fortunate to have Harry T as my Brother in law, Kathy picked a super guy. I was bouncing around from one menial labor job to the next when Harry stepped up and was instrumental in helping me get hired on at the Old CG&E which I will be eternally grateful. I had a great career and met many very fine people . Harry and I had a few years working together and it was not work, it was fun. He absolutely loved telling jokes and getting everyone around laughing, one of his most famous, ” The Ten Simple Sentences”, which he memorized by heart. We always told him he should have been a comedian on stage. He was a family man, absolutely loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He made family movies which he`d show at Christmastime to everyone`s delight. Harry did well in life. made a lot of friends, had a wonderful family, and will be sorely missed. And Thanks to Linnemann Funeral Home for doing a very good job.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Kathy,

I don’t know what to say to ease your sorrow. My prayers are with you and the family.

What a great man!

To the Collins Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Harry was a great man, he always welcomed me into your home as if I was a part of the family, even knowing I am a Steelers’ fan. It was an honor speaking to him and Kathy most recently about starting his chemo, I gave him some insider advice on how to deal with the chemo. I wish you were still here battling, but Heaven gained a great man, you will be missed.

Always smiling!

I feel very blessed to have met Harry several years ago at St Elizabeth! No matter what was going on with him, he always had a smile on his face and was so positive! What an example he showed! I always felt fortunate when I got to take care of him- in the past and recently-and truly enjoyed talking to him and Kathy! Harry made the world a better place ! My deepest sympathy and prayers to Kathy and their family. May God bring you comfort and peace! Job well done Harry- Rest In Peace in paradise !

Fond Memories

Sending my condolences to Kathy and family at this difficult time. I haven’t visited with you and Harry for over 35 years, but it was nice to connect with Harry on Facebook after his mom passed away. When I was a kid, Harry always doted on me when I visited with my mom and dad from Minnesota. One time we took a ferry boat ride over to King’s Island (?) amusement park, and he went on all the rides with me. I remember going with Nell and my mom over to your beautiful home, and Harry always had a knack for making people feel special. With sympathy and hugs, Joan Jagello Scinocca, Duluth, MN.

To soon!

Kathy, sorry to hear about Harry!
He was always the one to put a smile on your face!
May god hold him close to his heart.
“Those we love don’t go away;
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard but always near.
Sill loved, still missed, and very dear…”

Remembering Harry

Kathy, Thank you for allowing our hospice to care for Harry. Though we only knew him for a short time, his positivity and smile was infectious. It was obvious all who knew him, loved him. I’m so glad he was able to enjoy the Easter egg hunt and the beautiful weather that day. It was an honor and privilege to be one of the nurses who cared for him. So very sorry for your loss, your family is in my prayers. Pat, RN

What A Great Guy

Harry was a coworker of mine at CG&E for many, many years. He was always upbeat and had a smile on his face that would somehow brighten your day. He was very proud of his internship with Bob Shreve’s “Past Time Playhouse”. We would talk about the characters on the show like Garoro, Spidel, and of course Chickie. All characters from an era a long time ago, but Harry would talk about it with others who remembered the show like it was yesterday. I’m happy and proud to say I knew Harry Collins. He was definitely one of a kind, a wonderful kind of man.

God Bless & R.I.P. Harry,
Fred Surkamp
