Frederick W. Stephens, 88, passed away peacefully at his Burlington, KY residence on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Fred was born in Covington, KY on October 31, 1932 to the late Ethel Hougaboo. Fred was a graduate of Holmes High School and proudly served his country for 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. After his military career, Fred worked as a General Manager for McDonalds and later as a courtesy driver for Lexus. He loved sports, traveling, hiking, and was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and the American Legion. He is survived by wife of 34 years Doris Stephens, daughters Pamela Stephens Solesky (Rob), Sandra Sandlin, Theresa Bradshaw (Mark), and Shelly Webb (Josh), grandchildren Jessica Klee (Grant), Jennifer Asher (Adam), Madelyn Webb, and Elayna Webb, and great grandchildren Jace Klee, Crew Klee, and Adalynn Asher. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5pm until 7pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation. The interment will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 12pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North. Goodbye to my friend.
Fred was one of my “best buddies” in High School. I have many pleasant memories of my old buddy. May he rest in peace. God bless him.
Our neighborhood is less bright today…
We are so going to miss seeing Fred sitting in the shade of the tree or on his balcony talking to us every time we walked by. He was a constant bright light in our days and he will be missed. We will forever remember his gentle manner, his love of our furkids, and his sweet smile. Thank you for being our friend Fred…we are honored to have known you and we will keep you in our hearts for always.
