Ruth Lorraine Cahill, 88, of Edgewood, KY passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Emerald Trace Care Center in Erlanger, KY. She was born June 27, 1933 in Covington, KY to the late Harry and Mary Theresa Fey. Ruth was a graduate of St. Henry High School class of 1951. She was a devout Catholic, and she was a member of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood. She worked 35 plus years at the IRS in Covington, and in retirement she enjoyed meeting with her IRS “Lunch Bunch”. She was a proud mother and grandmother, and her family was always her top priority. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, baking chocolate chip cookies and cheesecakes, and rocking her grandchildren. She always enjoyed bringing the whole family together. She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Cahill, her siblings: Jospeh “Bud” Riegler, Frank Riegler, Len Riegler, Jack Fey, Betty Landrum, and Harry Fey, and her granddaughter, Mary Cahill Morris. Ruth is survived by her loving children: David (Debbie) Cahill, Diane (Mark) Arstingstall, Tom (Rita) Cahill, Mike Cahill, Rhonda (David) Schneider, and Connie Wiedeman, her former husband, Gene (Bessie Martin) Cahill, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held for Ruth on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM at St. Pius X Church, 348 Dudley Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017. Following the visitation, Mass will be held at 6:00 PM at the Church. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a reception held in Milligan Hall at the Church with food and drinks. Ruth will be laid to rest with her family on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY. Due to the current uptick in Covid cases, mask will be required. Memorial contributions can be made in honor of Ruth to the St. Elizabeth Hospice at 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017 or to the “In Memory of Mary Morris, c/o Jackson Morris” to Prime South Bank at 3473 US Hwy 84, Blackshear, GA 31516. Prayers on your mom’s passing
