Albert J. Vesper III M.D.

,

A kind and caring man who took great care of my 4 sons.

I used to work at St. Elizabeth and when our first son was born I took him to Dr. Vesper because I knew what a kind and good man he was. It was 1974 and I believe his practice was fairly new. We had 4 sons and Dr. Vesper took great care of them. Memorial Day weekend 1980 our firstborn was 6 years old. He woke up and couldn’t walk. We called the dr. and he told us to meet him at his office. In fact, my son just texted me He’s been sick and was talking to his wife about Dr. Vesper and wanted to know where his office was. I believe it was between Scott and Madison in Covington, but not sure of the building. It had an old elevator with an operator, but since it was the holiday weekend my husband had to carry him up the steps. I believe. Dr. Vesper had my son admitted to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati and ordered tests and he was put in isolation. It turned out to be Guillain Barre Syndrome. which we’d never heard of at the time. Of course, now we know he can’t get flu shots because of that. Dr. Vesper got our 4 boys through shingles, calcium deficiency, a heart murmur, eyes that were stuck shut in the morning and needed a special ointment, and many other things I still have the blue books where he hand wrote their Height and weight after each visit along with their inoculations. He even gave my husband advice about vasectomies!. . He was an amazing man. My condolences to his family, friends, and the many families who served so well. Evelyn Miller

Dedicated Physician

So grateful for all the care and concern he showed me as a young , new mom! My daughters were one of his first patients in his practice! I will never forget the day he met me at his office , on his off day, when my daughter was ill! He called me twice that night to check on her! He truly was dedicated to his patients! Thank you Dr. Vesper for your expertise, kindness and gentle soul! May you Rest In Peace! Condolences to the family!

Friend and Employee

I worked for Albert for 27 years. He was the greatest teacher I ever had. We assisted him with every patient and he showed us many signs and symptoms of every illness that came into the office. My pediatric knowledge he taught me is still used today. When Albert retired the entire staff was hired by Dr. James Kelly because of our pediatric knowledge. Albert he had a 6th sense about his patients. He could sense when something was wrong and could diagnose things that others would have missed. It was a great loss to Northern KY when he was forced into retirement because of unfair insurance politics. The children and parents, in northern KY, lost a great pediatrician.

I remember one little boy came in the office complaining of a “bug in his ear”. When Albert looked in the boys ear, he looked up at me with wide eyes and said “there is a bug in there” as soon as he said that a big bug crawled out of his ear and flew around the room! The little boy looked at the doc and said “see I told you there was a bug in my ear!! We laughed and laughed. I have a thousand stories, funny and sad, that I could tell you about in the 27 years working with Albert, but most of all I just want to say ” Thank You Albert” for being there caring and taking care of my children and all the children that came through your office doors. You will be missed! I know that when you entered the gates of heaven, the Lord said “well done my faithful servant”.

A kind man

Dr. Vesper and dad were friends for years. I remember how kind Dr. Vesper was when I made rounds with dad at St E in Covington.
I am sorry for your loss.

Great man and Doctor.

Dr. Vesper was my children’s doctor in the 1980s when my youngest son Justin Ashcraft was not feeling well so when we visited Doc and he sent us to Saint Elizabeth for a battery of tests. When we checked into the hospital the nurse looked at the order and asked who the doctor was and I said, Vesper. She then said she should have known, Dr. Vesper always requests every test in the book for his patients so they called it a Vesper script. My son was diagnosed with leukemia and because of Dr. Vesper’s desire to take care of his patients, we had ten more years of Justin’s life to live. Thank you, Dr. Vesper, I do hope you rest in peace and your family has my sincere condolences. Dale Ashcraft
