Alvin Louis Bartlett went into Eternal Life on April 3, 2016, Divine Mercy Sunday surrounded by his family. He left behind his beautiful bride of 68 years, Mildred Bartlett. His zest for life created 16 offspring; two preceded him in death, November 23, 1960 and August 16, 1962. He is survived by Debbie Bartlett, Sandy (Martin) McGrath, Linda (Dave) Stricker, Nancy (Dave) Krull, Alvin Louis II (Terry) Bartlett, Mary Bartlett Lyon, John (Linda) Bartlett, Joseph (Rebecca) Bartlett, Pam (Mark) Moore, Peggy (Mike) Wesselman, Sharon (Let me see your pretty Smile!) Bartlett, Marcie (Jeff) Herbst, Lisa (Jeff) Nehus, Tom (Cindy) Bartlett, 36 Grandchildren, and 28 Great Grandchildren. His parents were Louis and Henrietta Bartlett of Woodlawn Ky and He was preceded in death by: Brother Roy and sister’s Betty and Elaine and Viola . His surviving siblings are Melvin( Mary Lou), Jimmy( Janie), Bobby( Helen), Sisters Patty( Bob Cooney) Lou Jones and June Schmuckie
Alvin was a WWII Veteran. He loved the Blessed Virgin Mary and he formed two Legions in Her honor. He was very well liked man, made numerous friends, and never had any enemies. He created Bartlett Auto Body shop after he came home from the War. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business from Xavier University, Class of 1952. He became a Supervisor for Aetna Life and Casualty all the while operating small businesses including convenience stores in Covington and Bellevue. He truly taught us the value of hard work. He slowed down during his retirement years working for KOI Auto Parts for 25 years, retiring at the age of 87. He taught us all the meaning of sacrifice throughout his 92 years of life. He will be greatly missed by us all.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Linneman Funeral Home, Burlington from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Union, KY on Saturday, April 9th, 2016, at 10 AM. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church School fund. www.linnemannfuneralhomes.com.
