Joseph Ebelhardt Steffen, 95, of Fort Mitchell, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Joe was born June 26, 1926 in Fort Mitchell, KY to the late John and Martha Alice Steffen. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marines and served during WWII and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Mary Brune Steffen, his daughter, Mary Jo Steffen, and his siblings Julie Kuhns and Jack Steffen. Joe is survived by his loving children Jack Steffen (Linda), Jay Steffen (Donna), Jeff Steffen (Diane), and Jan Hanser (Gary), 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Florence Baker. A visitation will be held for Joe on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM at the Church. Joe will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Fort Mitchell immediately following the Mass. Memorial contributions can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church at the address listed above or to St. Elizabeth Foundation (Hospice Center) at 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
