Garrett Lee Gronotte

Obituary
Condolences

Garrett Lee Gronotte passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at his residence in Petersburg, Kentucky.  He was born on October 12, 1995, in Cincinnati Ohio to Chris Gronotte and Kay Deitz Watson.

Garrett was a 2014 graduate of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, OH.  He then attended the University of Kentucky where he studied computer engineering.  Garrett was an employee at Sterling Cut Glass.  He was a kind, adventurous soul who loved his family and friends fiercely.  Garrett always had a smile on his face and was always making someone laugh with his quick-witted humor.  He loved going to the Bengals games with family and friends.  He also loved building computers, gaming, and spending time at the family lake house.  Garrett was always up for an adventure and enjoyed motorsports and racing.  To know Garrett was an honor, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Garrett’s bond with Zeb Gronotte was more than that of a cousin; they were best friends.  Their shared love of racing, working on cars, hunting, camping, and hiking at Red River Gorge, intertwined their friendship tightly into a brotherhood.

Those continuing to carry on Garrett’s legacy are his parents, Chris (Debra) Gronotte and Kay Watson; grandparents David and Jeanie Gronotte, June (Ray) Bailey; sisters Brandy (Josh) Meineke, Kellie Smith, and Sara Frank; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church at 10 o’clock in the morning with a celebration of life to be held immediately following from 11 o’clock until 1 o’clock.

Remembering Garrett

So very sad and sorrowful to hear the tragic news of Garrett’s sudden passing. He took on the responsibilities of my job at Sterling Cut Glass after my retirement in December 2021. After just a couple of weeks of training him, it was very apparent that Sterling Cut Glass was in good hands with him in his new role. My heartful prayers are with him, his family, friends and co-workers who will miss him so much. Heaven will now always be able to enjoy your warm and wonderful smile, Garrett. Rest in peace always.

To Garrett’s Family

I was so sad to hear this heartbreaking news.
It has saddened me since.
As part of the Dyas family who owns Sterling Cut Glass I interacted with Garrett on an almost daily. He seemed very quiet but was always ready with a smile. He had moved around some at Sterling but always in a good way, taking on more and more responsibility. He had a good home at Sterling Cut Glass.
I was not aware of the Gronette last name until now. I would guess that the Dave I knew at Cov Cath in ‘63-‘64 is Garrett’s grandfather.
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is tragic and terrifying to know that a life can be sniffed out so suddenly.
My prayer is that the Lord has him under His wing and hope that the many memories will comfort his family and friends.
May God Bless
Mike Dyas
