Tributes
Kelly Brendel, 45, of Independence, KY, entered into God’s kingdom on April 4th, 2023. She was born March 7th 1978, to Linda and David Kubala.
Kelly, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister is survived by her husband, Chad; daughter Kelcie; parents, Linda and David Kubala; father-in-law and mother-in law, Barry and Alice Brendelsisters Christa Wheeler and Adrean Henson: brother Nathan Brown; brother-in-law, Doug Wheeler and her faithful protectors Bear and Tiger.
Kelly was a ray of light from a young age as she spent her early years in Taylor Mill, Kentucky before making the long trek to Oswego, New York where she lived from 1988-1999. She made many friends along the way before returning home to start a new journey that summer.
She began taking classes at Northern Kentucky University while living with her beloved aunt Barb Grubbs while spending most of her time around her cousin Kim Williams and her husband Nick. That led to a chance night in February of 2000 when Kelly and her future husband Chad Brendel crossed paths and quickly the two formed a bond that would never be broken.
Kelly was fiercely loyal to anyone she believed in. From her amazing group of cousins in the Kubala family to the new Brendel family in her life, she was always quick with a yes when invited to any and every family function that would include her presence. And make no mistake, she was always greeted with an invite because everyone knew she would make something as simple as a day at the park or zoo to throwing axes and spending a night out with those close to her a memorable experience just because she was involved.
She and Chad were married on July 14th, 2007 in a beautiful ceremony in Morehead, KY with both families coming together to celebrate Kelly’s love. As she always manage to do, she created many memories for everyone in attendance with her magnetic personality and never ending love for life.
On July 25th, 2010 Kelly’s life changed forever with the birth of her only child Kelcie. The two were instantly inseparable and as Kelcie grew older it was almost impossible to find one without the other.
Sadly in 2017, Kelly was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and entered what became a daily fight for her life. She was courageous, strong willed, and one heck of a fighter that took her battle head on but somehow maintained that always magnetic smile on her face.
She took the challenge head on but unfortunately it was her body that couldn’t carry on as she peacefully took her journey home on the night of April 4th, 2023.
A GoFundMe has been set up to cover outstanding medical expenses and establish a college fund for Kelcie.
