Barbara Ann Custer Keam, 75, of Florence, KY passed away at her residence on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 27, 1948, to the late Robert Milton Custer and Virginia Dunn.
Barbara grew up in Northern Kentucky and worked as an executive secretary for Graybar Company before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, eating out, and was an avid fan of the TV show, the Bachelor. She was also an animal lover, as she especially loved her cats. Barbara loved her family fiercely and would do anything for anyone. She will be remembered for her beautiful soul and kind compassionate heart that she had for others. For those for had the privilege of knowing and loving Barbara, they will miss her beyond measure.
Barbara leaves behind her loving fiancé, Tom McKenzie; daughter in law, Ruth Torres Keam; granddaughter, Neyah Keam; dear friend, Carol Spitzer, brother, Owen (Debbie Claunch) Brandenburg, nieces, Kim Moore, Stacy Brandenburg West, Stephanie Brandenburg and many other friends and extended family.
Preceding Barbara in death are her parents, Robert and Virginia Custer; loving son, Jason Keam; sister, Billie K. Glass and brother, Lowell E. Brandenburg.
A memorial service will be held to honor Barbara’s life on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Linnemann Funeral Home 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41055. Barbara will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation 10901 Reed Hartman Hwy #202, Cincinnati, OH 45242 or the Boone County Animal Shelter 5643 Idlewild Rd, Burlington, KY 41005.
