Raymond N. Skirvin, 92, of Glencoe, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the VA Veteran Center in Ft. Thomas. Raymond was a WWII Veteran. He was a member of the U.S. Army 1876 Aviation Battalion attached to the Air Corp. During his life, Raymond worked for 15 years as a builder for Albee Homes. He later worked, for many years, as the property manager for Calvary Christian School. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in June of this year. Raymond is survived by his children Millie Vallandingham (Frank) of Erlanger, KY, Donna Dambaugh (Chan) of Florence, KY, Brenda Stocker (Bill) of Danville, KY, Tim Skirvin (Bev) of Monroe, OH, and Peggy Williams (Brian) of Hebron, KY, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Calvin Skirvin of Nashville, TN, Louis Skirvin Jr. of Madison, IN, Leona Tilley of Madison, IN, and Thelma Lee Mays of La Grange, KY. A visitation will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 8am to 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member and served as an usher for 40 years. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 11am at the church. Military Honors will follow the service and take place at Calvary Christian School. A reception will follow military honors and take place at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
