Joseph Eugene Theis, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at his Covington, KY residence. Joe served in the U.S. Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. After serving in the Navy, Joe attended and graduated from commercial art school, which became his career. He actively served at St. Benedict parish in many facets, such as: Eucharistic Minister and Past President of the Holy Name Society. Joe also served as the President of St. Vincent De Paul, took art classes at Baker Hunt, and enjoyed Tai Chi.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Mary Jo Theis (nee Ross), children: Ann Halverstadt (Paul), Joe Theis (Carolyn), Mark Theis, Sharon Nime (Ted), Joann Frisk (Jared) and John Theis, grandchildren: Hilary, Hannah, and Ross Halverstadt, Tessa, Annie, Joey, Emma, and Josh Theis, Danny Kaminsky, Abigail and Allison Nime, Jacob, Jordan, and Jason Frisk, and Alicia Sizemore (David), great grandchildren Alexis, David, and Noah Sizemore, and siblings Ralph Theis (Norma), Tom Theis (Emily) and Don Theis (Deann). Joe was preceded in death by 3 children Charlotte, Gerard, and Angela Theis and siblings Paul Theis and Ethel Mounts.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, 9:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Benedict Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow and begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mother of God Cemetery, in Latonia, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul 2655 Crescent Springs Rd.
