Ray Elliott Buckingham formerly of Cincinnati passed away peacefully at 92 on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Rita May Ann (Eschmeyer). A devoted father, Ray was also preceded in death by his two daughters, Elaine Anne (Bevington) and Patricia Ray (Petre), and his late brother Richard D. Buckingham. Ray was the son of the late Ray Buckingham (Sr) and Clara Opal (Dillon). Ray is survived by his second wife Elizabeth (Conyers), his daughter Pamela Jean (Garwood) and his ten grandchildren, Richard Bevington III, Bradley Bevington, Alicia Burns, Christian Lair, Graham Lair, Sam Petre, Mark Petre, Alex Petre, Molly Petre and Quinn Petre. Ray also has 15 great grandchildren. Ray was a World War II veteran serving on the Navy’s Blimp squadrons. He was also the founder and owner of L&B Distributing, a meat and poultry supplier of over thirty years. L&B provided for many of the finest restaurants in the greater Cincinnati area. The Buckinghams have a long history in the greater Cincinnati area and have a historical home in Indian Hill that is open to the public. Ray and Rita (his first wife) enjoyed time at their farm which was the center of many family get-togethers over the years. Ray was also an avid golfer and held a pilots license. Ray will be greatly be missed by all. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 5:00PM at Linnemann Family Funeral Home in Burlington, KY, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. Mass will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville, OH.
