Abbey L. Zimmer

,

Praying for Abbey’s friends and family,

I did not know Abbey, but my sister’s granddaughter, Peyton, was her friend. And Alex Dummitt is my great niece and she cheered with Abbey. I want her family and friends to know that people you don’t even know are praying for healing and peace for you. Her passing affected us all. I think she is one of the Angels now. She was loved by many. She is in God’s arms and care. Hopefully knowing so many people are praying for you gives you some small amount of comfort.

Sympathy and Prayers to your family

Dan and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers to your family.
Sincerely,
Lisa Heffley

So Sorry for Your Loss

To the Zimmer Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. No words can describe the pain you must feel. We pray for Abbey and for ALL of the Zimmer family that God may heal your broken hearts and that the love and support of family and friends will surround you and carry you through this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,

To the family of Abbey Zimmer

There are no words

To the Zimmer family,
I do not know you personally, however your sweet girl was a friend of my nieces from their very early childhood days. Unfortunately she is out of town but told me about this when it happened. Looking at that angelic face, one has to wonder the unfathomable pain that she must have been so strong to hide. Regardless of her reason, this is so tragic. As a mother myself, I cannot even begin to imagine having the ability to put one foot in front of the other right now. To have to live a new normal because of this is beyond my comprehension. As one who wants to always fix painful things in people’s lives, I am always reminded that it is an impossible task. This has to be like having open heart surgery without anesthetic. My heart breaks for all of you. I trust she is at peace now. Sometime down the road I feel that this may give you a small amount of comfort. I am not sure but knowing that is my hope and prayer for all of you. Godspeed Abbey. Rest In Peace.

To The Zimmer Family

To the Zimmer Family!
It is with great sadness that we hear Tom and Nadene’s granddaughter has died! Tom and Nadene are our lifetime friends, and we want them to know our thoughts and prayers are with them! God Bless You and guide you through this difficult time!!
Love,
Debbie Keyes Hansen and Family

Hardest thing in the World

I lost my little brother at the age of 19 to suicide. There are no words that will ever heal this loss, but please know that as a survivor of a tragedy like this there was nothing that you could have done differently. This was not a selfish act (as I once believed it to be), because as hurt, lost, and sad as you are now… she had to have been 100 times more then that in secret. The one thing that gave me any sense of peace in the moment was this message: Things will not be worse… they will not be better… they will just be different. (I don’t even remember who said it to me.) I am so very sorry for your loss and I pray that God holds your hand through what is undoubtedly the hardest thing anyone could possibly live through. God bless your family. All my prayers. Tandy Steele (Creston, IA)

In Sympathy

We’re so very sorry to hear about the passing of your beautiful, beloved Abby! You’re forever in our hearts and prayers! Steve and Jeannie Hoekzema (friends of Tom and Nadine)

Beautiful Angel

So long as we walk where Angels tread,We need have no fear of the road ahead.

God needed another Angel

Rest assured–she is in heaven now.

DAN AND BECKY, MY HEART ACHES DEEPLY FOR YOU

My heart just aches for you. You are in my heart and on my mind constantly since the passing of your sweet baby girl. The only thing I knew once we’d met the 3 of you and spent all those years of cheer blessed with you… was that your family was absolutely precious. The pain that consumes you now is not comprehendable. Your family is in all of our thoughts. I pray for your moment of peace. Abbey was so polite and sweet. So soft spoken. Her smile was contagious. That’s how I remember her. Something is profoundly unfair about a parent laying their child to rest ???? I will continue to pray for you for a long time- Terra Aylor

Our love

Dan and Becky, Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. Your family and Abbey’s smiling face made our time in cheer that much more enjoyable. I’m very sorry we won’t be able to make it back to Kentucky for the services, but you remain in our prayers!
Deaven, Brett, Sophie and Jake Meadors.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our hearts ache for your loss ????

Dan and Becky, Our hearts ache with you for the tragic loss of Abbey. We have great memories of Ockerman and NKJV volleyball with your family and as we look at the pictures from the many years of volleyball we will never forget her contagious smile and beautiful soul. May she rest in eternal peace. All our love Cindy, Madelyn and Hunter Hassel

Beautiful Soul

Becky, Dan and Family,

In all the years your family and our family have spent around each other in the gym, we have gotten to know you well and love you even more. Abbey was such a wonderful girl with a beautiful spirit and soul and it’s obvious that she was that way because of the great family you are! I know there are no words that can really comfort you but I wanted you to know that our family sends big hugs and love to yours and we are only a phone call away. ????
Sue, Scott, Madi & Alli Borders

It will get better

My heart goes out to all grieving from Abbey’s passing. The feeling never really goes away, but over time it will get easier to deal with. I didn’t know her as well as others did, but she was always a joyful and smart student in the classes we shared 🙁

I understand, and I am truly sorry for what you are going through.

I myself understand and know what it is like to lose someone in this way. I’ve even been through that rough path myself. But, please please stay strong. For her. It’s now up to you to make her life as meaningful and as well known and praised because she lived. She will surly be missed and to all of the students at BCHS who are suffering and to her family who is wanting to give up, please don’t. The memory of one of your closest friends or favorite aunt or favorite cousin and daughter live long and bright. And don’t give up… I know it’s hard and I know you don’t understand and I know you want to give up but, she wouldn’t have wanted you be in pain or suffer, she would want you to live with a smile as bright as hers and light up everyone’s day as she has. Live knowing that she is walking with God and his angels and is finally at peace after this long long battle she was fighting. God bless all of you and let him release you of your suffering.

You are not alone

My heart is so heavy from this tragedy Abbey was such a beautiful and kind soul who spread smiles wherever she went. I wish we could have all given her the happiness she had given us when she needed it most. Thoughts and prayers with the Zimmers and her friends, you are all loved deeply and have the support of an amazing community around you. In the short time I spent playing volleyball with Abbey she brightened each of my days and made time on the court a relaxing laugh. Abbey You will be so dearly missed by so many -Chelan Beasley

With deepest sympathy~

Heavy heart

My heart is aching for everyone who loved Abbey.

To the family of Abbey Zimmer

I am a former volleyball player at Boone County High school. When I graduated, Abbey was then coming in. I did not know Abbey well, but we did share a few words I believe. Although we were not friends and I am much older than she, the passing of her has impacted myself and so many. It is so obvious that she was so so loved. Because of the kind words said by coaches, teachers and friends, I hope that her family finds comfort and eventually peace. I, as well as thousands of others have the Zimmer family in our prayers. Let Abbey be free of pain and be walking with the Lord.

Heavy Hearts

With such a heavy heart I am writing this. I know no words can fill the hole that must be in the hearts of Abbeys loved ones, but I just wanted to express how big of an impact Abbey had on my life. Being a senior looking up to a sophomore on the volleyball court says more than enough about the type of person abbey was. I’ve never met someone with such a happy, happy vibe to them. Her smile was contagious. You couldn’t be in a bad mood around Abbey. Always so gitty and full of life. I wish nothing more than to be able to tell her how big of an impact she had on everyone surrounding her. May the family and friends of Abbey find comfort somehow in this difficult time and may Abbey rest peacefully.
-Madison Hill, former volleyball teammate

My deepest condolences

Dear Dan and Becky,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Abby was a wonderful, caring person. Even though I only knew her for a short time, she was a joy to coach. My favorite memory was from our last tournament when she showed Natalie and me her videos that she recorded of herself singing and dancing in her room. Your family will be in my daily thoughts and prayers. Eternal Rest, grant to Abby, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
