A Great Mother

My mom, Allison, was an amazing to me and my little brother. She always knew how to make us laugh and could give us good advice on friendship. I remember the weekends when she would take us camping, or when we would take walks and ride our scooters to the candy store, or the nights we would watch the storms on the porch. She would even watch the movies me and Silas watched! My mom was such an incredible mom, she had so many funny jokes and creative ideas, especially on Halloween. She would help me through everything and she was such a great mother, I was so lucky to have had her as my mom. She was a great artist and cook as well, I remember the days she would pick me and my brother up from school and we would come home and play and she would make some amazing dinner. My favorite meal she cooked was shrimp scampi. I will always remember the time she tried to play the tambourine at The Liberty Ranch Rehab center for Christmas, my family and I still joke about that today. It’s sad though knowing that she won’t physically be there for important events in my life, like my wedding or graduation, but I know she will always be with us in our hearts. Even though we may not be able to see that curly haired, kind, and free spirited woman, she’ll always watch over everyone she cared about.
-Ruby Brooks (her daughter)

You always loved a good party…

My dear Allison what a party it was! So many people came out to say goodbye to you, share a story, a memory or just grieve with us. You were the light in the room, the presence that kept me going all thru the day. I wish you would have known and felt the love and admiration so many had for you while you were here with us. The love shared about you will live in my heart always and give me something to cling to in the days ahead when I will surely feel like I am drowning in sorrow. Gone way to soon dear one….Love, Mom

Remember the Good Times…

It has been over twenty five years since I last saw Allison and her family. I see from the picture that she still had that awesome curly hair my sister and I remember from our childhood!
I also remember her kindness, humor, and energetic spirit. I don’t remember her ever being sad, saying an unkind word, or getting angry at me. This stands out to me because I was a pretty annoying kid at that age! Yet, she was always a great hostess and friend when we came to visit.
My younger sister and I spent many fun times swimming and playing with Allison and Katie over at their home. I will remember her, Katie, Jan, and Tim always as good friends.
May Allison rest in peace, and may her family find comfort and strength in knowing that she is, and always has been, a beautiful soul that leaves behind a legacy of love and positivity.

Deepest sympathies

My sincere condolences to family and friends. May you find comfort in your loving memories, and in God’s promise to soon “swallow up death forever” and “wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25;8) Rev 21:4  “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” To find more comforting scriptures visit www.jw.org.

In memory of Allison

My heart breaks for all those who loved Allison, especially family members and friends who have lost someone so dear! Allison had a beautiful spirit and heart! My prayers are with all who are struggling with her loss.

She touched my life.

I met Allison quite accidentally a couple of years ago when she cut my hair. I said “I’m open to anything, you decide”. Well, it was the best style I ever had, I cannot tell you the number of compliments I received. I actually followed her to another location of even though it was out of the way, that is how much I liked Allison and the hair style. She was so good at what she did. As only can happen in Northern Kentucky, it turned out that my daughter was in high school with Allison’s cousin. Her aunt graciously shared Allison’s struggles with me and I have been praying ever since. Just know she made a difference in my life. A haircut might seem like a small event, but it made me feel pretty and gave me confidence. To this day I show the stylist a picture of the original style and although it’s close – it’s never been as good as the cut & style Allison gave me. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Melinda Lampke
