Anne “Liz” Hegge

I knew Liz aka MAMA MIA at Remkes in Florence, Kentucky. I was working my way through college and she was cooking her way to the hearts of everyone she meet. She was so much fun to work with and truly a blessing to become friends with. She brought such joy through her friendship. She cared enough to go to my college graduation. She wore a polka dotted dress (so I could see her) and blew a whistle as long and loud as she could.

To all,
“Aunt Liz” to me was always a fixture in the Schmolt household playing cards with Blanch and Winfred until their passing, then present with Charlie, Julie, Alvin, Liz when I would visit. I knew she prayer for me daily during my studies, ordination, and ministry in the priesthood. She will be missed for her smile and for me her deep faith.
God bless you Aunt Liz. May the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

A former Taylor Mill neighbor, Joyce Wolking, just called to tell us of Bob’s mother’s passing last week.
We’re so sorry to hear about it and send our deepest sympathy. We know you were both close to her and will
miss her. She was blessed to have so many grandchildren and even great-greats! May Bob’s mother rest in peace.

There are know words to describe the love myself & all my family have for the Hegge Family. Diana & I became friends many years ago as students at Blessed Sacrament & our friendship has remained constant to this day. Liz was my 2nd mother. Diana & I would check in with both of our mother’s & decide which house we wanted to eat at that night. When my children were little the Hegge family always would vacation on Ft. Myers Beach with us. We always looked forward to those times. Rob would take the kids fishing & Liz would cook up these fantastic meals & pies (she didn’t realize that she was supp0sed to relax & be on vacation also). It is with my deepest regret that I will not be able to be there for Liz’s service but know all of your family are in our prayers. Love Carol Bill Chad & Traci

Liz was perpetually so full of life and I will always credit her for paving the way for meeting my husband. She was instrumental in having the Passionists Nuns pray that I met a good man to be my husband and my prayers were answered. Also, our dad, Manny Goodridge always looked forward to her peanut brittle which arrived like clockwork every Christmas. Mom, my brother Keith and I nearly had to arm wrestle the peanut brittle tin away from dad! Liz will be sorely missed, but take comfort that she is catching up with Rob, family members, our mom and dad Manny and Avalon Goodridge, as well as Vivian and Paul Craven and Dave Craven. I’m sure dad has already talked to her about missing her peanut brittle.

Whenever Diana invited me to her parents’ home, Mrs. Hegge made me feel so welcome. She was the perfect matriarch. She would listen as we talked about everything from boyfriends to the Beatles as their music played on the stereo. She never gave unsolicited advice, but we would’ve benefited from her wisdom. She was a terrific cook and baker and generously shared her “melt in your mouth” peanut brittle. A visit to the Hegge home made me feel I’d been transported to one of my favorite childhood shows like “Father Knows Best” or “The Donna Reed Show”. This gracious lady touched so many lives and now Liz joins her beloved Rob. She leaves Diana, Helen and Bob, her grandchildren and great grandchildren with wonderful memories and traditions to carry on. My sympathy to all of you for your loss. Rest in peace Mrs. Hegge, you’ve earned it.
