Audrey Shepherd of Lakeside Park, died peacefully on June 21st, surrounded by those who loved her. Born in 1925 to Clarence and Helen Weinig, Audrey grew up in the Northern Kentucky area. Although she was an only child, she wouldn’t be alone for long. Audrey caught the eye of Harry Shepherd at a dance that neither was originally going to attend. Her red pleated skirt got Harry’s attention. 72 years of marriage, two children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren later and the life Audrey lived is remembered as full. It was full of love, full of joy and full of conversation. She is described as a talker, someone who knew no enemies. Her joy was contagious. She loved to laugh, and was an excellent dancer. Her love for chocolate was no secret and she shared her sweet tooth with her grandchildren by always having a banana split ready when they came to visit. Audrey was preceded in death by both parents. She will live on in the hearts of those who survive; husband, Harry Shepherd; children, Debbie (Timothy) Richie and David (Helen) Shepherd; grandchildren Ashley (Eric) Pichlik, Sarah Shepherd, Erin (Andrew) Isaacson, and Derek and Kyle Richie; great grandchildren Tessa, Brett and Clayton Isaacson. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00AM at Highland Cemetery Chapel in Ft. Mitchell. The family would prefer donations in Audrey’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by going to www.stjude.org , clicking “donate now” and checking the “dedicate my donation” box.
