Betty J. Hurst, 88, passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Florence,KY. She was born in Covington, KY to Fern Angel Blanke and Howard Rust, both deceased. Betty graduated from Ludlow High School in 1948 with a wonderful group of friends who have remained steadfast throughout the years. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, James F. Hurst. She is survived by her daughter Patty Marks (Jim), grandchildren Dr. Katherine R. Marks and a.b.d. Drs. James Paul Marks III (Sezen), and her faithful cat, Abby. Betty had a fulfilling and successful career as a Realtor owning her own business, and enjoyed early retirement after serving as Executive Director of the Kenton Boone Board of Realtors. Betty’s passion was bridge. She was member of the Northern KY Bridge Club where she directed games and played on several traveling competitive teams. Achieving the rank of Life Master, she also taught bridge classes with Jim and her dear friend Cindy. Betty was an avid reader, continuous learner, and often served as computer guru to her friends. Her unwavering strength and wisdom will continue to light the way for all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Friday April 6, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger. Funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday April 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ft Mitchell. Memorials can be made to Crazy Cats Animal Rescue P.O.
