Tributes
Carolyn J. Steuber, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 8, 2023, at Rosedale Green in Covington, KY. She was born on June 13, 1930, in Kenton County, KY to the late Norbert and Cora Michels.
Carolyn grew up on a farm and was one of three children. She was a 1948 graduate of the Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills, KY. She married the love of her life, Robert on May 5, 1951. They built a life together and had 6 wonderful children. Early on, church and their faith were an important factor in their lives. Bob and Carolyn were one of the founding families in the parish at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Carolyn and Bob enjoyed traveling to Gatlinburg, TN when they had the chance to get away. She was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing and gardening. Carolyn’s biggest joy was the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. Carolyn was a true warrior and had great determination for any obstacle she faced in life. From raising children to being a caretaker for her husband in his last days. She had a huge heart and a kind soul. Those that had the privilege of knowing and loving this wonderful lady will miss her presence in the days to come.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Cora Michels; loving husband of 49 years, Robert “Bob” Steuber and son, Robert “Bob” Steuber, Jr.
Those left here to carry on her legacy are her children, Mary Carol (Dennie) Story, Jane (Wayne) Napier, Norbert “Norb” (Mary) Steuber, Nancy (Jeff) Peden, Marjie (Lee) Stauber; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Linnemann Funeral Home 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, KY at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. A reception will be held at the Linnemann Event Center at the funeral home following the services.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Carolyn’s name to the St. Jude’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
