Charles “Chuck” Edward Byrne, 88, of Union, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his residence. Charles was an assistant general manager for Husky Products for 20 years, he was a veteran of the United States Army, and he also served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a longtime member of Union Presbyterian Church, of which he was an Elder; and he was the owner of Byrne Strawberry farm in Boone County for 20 years. Chuck also was active with the Boy Scouts of America and served in rotary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ruth Byrne and his brother, Robert Byrne. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Glen Byrne of Union, KY; his children: Steven Edward (Kimberly) Byrne of Union, KY, and Sarah Crolley of Punta Gorda, FL; and his sister: Mary Vaughn of Cincinnati, OH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jordan (Bryan) Dunbar, Logan (Allie) Byrne, Devin (Jennifer) Crolley, and Corey Crolley; and 8 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00AM at Beaver Lick Christian Church 12665 US Hwy 42 Walton, KY, followed by a reception at the farm.
