Condolences

Clarence “Benny” Milton Vastine Jr., 90, of Ludlow, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY surrounded by his loving family. Benny was a Fire Captain for Covington Fire Department, where he worked for 32 years, and he was a veteran of the United States Navy. Additionally, Benny was a member of the Ludlow Vets and Devou Park Golf Leagues, an Honorary Kentucky Colonel, a Freemason, and he served on the Devou Park Advisory Board.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Grace Vastine; his wife, Ruth Vastine (nee Ledbetter); his brothers, William Thomas Vastine and George Dennis Vastine; his sisters, Mary Jane Knasel, and Barbara Vastine; and his dear companion, Charlotte Ardo.

He leaves behind his daughters, Sally Conner, Kim (Jim) Runions and Karen (Donnie) Nussbaum; his son, Greg Vastine; and his sisters, Jean (Lou) Moeves and Martha Rheynard.

Benny also leaves behind his grandchildren, David King, Kevin Conner, Danny Rimer, Mike Conner, and Dennis Rimer; and his great-grandchildren, Savannah, Gunnar, Gavan, and Grayson

A visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. A funeral service will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10:00AM at First Baptist Church in Ludlow, KY. He will be buried at Highland Cemetery.
