Tributes
Cynthia Cobb Wolff Powell, age 80, passed peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, January 6, 2024. Cindy grew up in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, graduated from Beechwood High School, then The University of Cincinnati College of Nursing where she also received her Masters in Nursing. While at UC she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta social sorority. She practiced nursing until the age of 73. Her career included nursing, teaching, and research with an emphasis in cardiology.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mary Wolff. She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Prigmore (Shaun), Susan Powell (Peter Bartlett), brother Otto Daniel Wolff (Cathy), grandchildren Molly and Jackson Prigmore and several beloved nieces and nephews. Her marriage of 32 years to Newton Powell, ended amicably in divorce.
Cindy enjoyed golfing, gardening, boating on the river and volunteering for many charitable causes. She was a loyal member of “The Sunny Six”, girlfriends from kindergarten until her death.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at The Church of the Redeemer, 2994 Erie Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio on January 12, 2024. A reception will follow the church service. In Lieu of flowers please direct memorial contributions to redeemer-cincy.org directed to the Flower Guild or Episcopal Relief and Development funds.
