Edward Tomlin Schwarberg, 93, of Edgewood, KY, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Edward A. and Chloe (nee: Tomlin) Schwarberg. Edward was a repairman for Cincinnati Bell for 35 years and proudly served our country in the United States Navy where he fought in a submarine in the Pacific Theater where he was awarded several medals. He also had a love for Horse Racing. Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years, Rose (nee: Foltz) Schwarberg and their children, Gayle (Ralph) Schwartz, Sharon (Charlie) Bertsch and Edward (Peggy) Schwarberg. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Erlanger, KY with funeral services to follow at the funeral home at 11:30am. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum in Ft. Mitchell with Military Honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Oliver Schwartz Autistic Fund at www.gofundme.com, Greater Cincinnati Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes. Funny memory
Grandpa was one of a kind. I still know all of the songs he taught us as kids “and they swam and they swam right over the dam” – we loved that one because we thought we were getting away with cussing, and “little birdie in the sky, why’d you do that in my eye” – so funny and so innocent. I remember him sitting crossed leg under his horse Daisy so that we would not be afraid of her. He will forever, in my mind, be sitting on the porch smoking a cigar. Glad I got to see you, E.T.
