Jerry E. Jackson, 80, of Hebron, KY passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Facility in Edgewood, KY. He was born June 26, 1941 in Lubbock, TX to the late John and Lois Jackson. Following High School, Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 11 years. He fought during the Vietnam War and was serving as the secretary of the Air Force General during the fall of Saigon. Following his time in the service, Jerry became a truck driver. He was a kind and loving man with a big heart. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, and he enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. He was also a “jack of all trades and a master of none” and he enjoyed carpentry and fixing things up around the house. His granddaughter, Audrianna Hall preceded him in death. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife: Mary Jackson, his loving daughters: Charlene Anderson, Marlene (Rodney) Price, and Sue Hall, his dear grandchildren: Stacey (Ben) Shelton, Brian (Megan) Anderson, Ryan Price, and Afton (Charlotte) Ottesen-Price, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held for Jerry on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Jerry will be laid to rest at Burlington Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
