Little Brother, we shared many good times and bad times. You and I said our last goodbye during the last month of your life. My immediate family and I wish you Godspeed and Peace, always.

Many of us at DHL/Astar had nicknames. Some were bestowed for flying errors. A few were malicious. Joe’s was affectionate: Two-shirt, an approximation of a common mispronunciation of his name.
Joe, by any name, was a good man. The world needs more like him.

Always willing to go out to Fun places and explore with the crew.
Even made the places we have been new.
Livin in blues, uniforms, and muddy boots.
Whatever it was we always had more than a few hollers and hoots.
His presence will be missed by all he knew.

Our condolences to Joe’s family.
So very sad to hear of his passing.
We have many fond memories of him back in MSP.
The time we drove the Corvette he bought
in El Paso back to STP (home) without any brakes.
At work or just enjoying his boat he always made it fun.

I knew Joe for a pretty long time. I met him when he bought his wife her engagement ring. He was kind and we just got along from the get go. He was sometimes sarcastic and sometimes just down right no nonsense. Thats what I loved about him. He was always witty and his sense of humor was dry but we always laughed and joked. To his wife and daughter, my condolences for your loss. He loved you guys and always wanted to be the best for you all. He wanted the best for you also. I will miss him greatly but mostly his friendship. He truly will be missed by many but forgotten by none.

Joe was one of the first kids I ever met, maybe around 4 or 5 years old, as we played by the big tree in their yard. I grew up with Joe, from that first meeting to all the sunday school classes, to graduation, where I lost touch with him until a few years ago where we chatted on Facebook. I remember him one day sitting in the gym at lunch with a banjo – being a guitar player I thought I could play it, but I could not! He did, though! He had a great voice, singing on the high school choir and played the tuba all those years in band. I never saw him angry or upset – he always had a smile and a calm demeanor. Joe was always fun to be around, great sense of humor, interesting outlook on things. I’ll see you in Valhalla, save me a seat in the great hall brother.

You were on of the jolly ones Joe. Always with a smile and a joke. I really enjoyed flying with you and always looked forward to a trip that had you on it. Rest easy. My condolences to the family.

We enjoyed some great laughs together and at each other. I wish we could re-live the deadhead to EWR on The Skipper’s airplane and the ride to the Five Towns, that was priceless.

As a coworker, Joe was always professional, and competent. As a friend, he was always quick with a smile, and cheerful. He was the kind of a person who lit up a room just by walking in. My condolences, to his family and friends.

How do you sum up 50+ years of friendship and memories in a few words.

I was fortunate enough to be able to share family holidays, picnics, vacations, and a multitude of other great times with you. I know that you were not only well loved, but that you loved well. I truly hope that you knew that tool

It will be hard going on without being able to pick up the phone and talk with you, but I look forward to being reunited and catching up with youin the future.
