Joseph M. Manning (Mike) 74 of Navarre, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Gulf Breeze Hospital surrounded by his family. Mike was born on June 3, 1948, in Louisville, KY to his parents Maurice D. Manning and Mary Emma Staples. He grew up in Erlanger, KY where he attended and graduated from St. Henry Catholic School. He met his beautiful wife Rosalie Baker (Rosie) and they were married in Fort Wright, KY on June 12, 1971.
After moving to Shawnee, KS., he began a career with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company in 1978; After numerous promotions, awards and achievements, not to mention moves, he later retired in 2001 in Atlanta, GA. Mike loved sports, he was a coach for his two sons’ teams, loved the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds as well as the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, he even played baseball professionally for a short time for the Washington Senators.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice D. and Mary Emma Manning. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rosalie (Rosie) Manning of Navarre, FL, his two children John Wesley (Wes) Manning (Jami) of Edwardsville, KS, and Jason Manning (Maria) of Navarre, FL; his five grandchildren, who he is most proud of, Hannah Manning, Daulton Manning, Emma Manning of Overland Park, KS, Peter Manning and Coralee Manning of Navarre, FL., as well as his beloved sister Audrey Manning of Erlanger, KY and his much-loved nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, FL on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 12 pm-2 pm, and at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY on Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 9 am-11 am.
