Tributes
FLORENCE – Leonard J. “Len” Schwarte, 89, died July 26 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood.
He was a supervisor in passenger care with American Airlines, a member of St. Paul Parish, volunteered at St. Elizabeth Edgewood and was also a WWII Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Lehmkuhl Schwarte; son, Gerry Schwarte of Florence; brother, Paul Schwarte of Villa Hills and sister, Matilda Spendlove of Oceanside, Calif.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Church, Florence. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
