Condolences

Lora Metzger, 58, of Taylor Mill, passed away after an extended illness on March 26, 2017. Lora was born on April 16, 1958 in Covington to Rosalie (Whitton) and Samuel Turner. She was a 1976 graduate of Lloyd High School and was married to Steve in 1980. She was employed by Cincinnati Bell, and later by Fidelity Investments. She decided to return to school and received her degree in Surgical Technology from UC Clermont in 2013. Upon graduation, she accepted a position in the Obstetrics department at Mercy Hospital in Anderson. She had a passion for providing excellent care to her patients. Lora was a devoted wife, a faithful sister, a proud grandmother, and a loving mother. She had a deep commitment to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Lora is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Terrence Turner. She is survived by her husband Steve; daughters Brittany (Michael) Hicks, of Taylor Mill, and Stephanie Metzger, of Taylor Mill; son Nicholas (Brooke) Metzger, of Hebron; grandchildren Cecily Metzger, Jack and Wyatt Metzger, Alex and Nora Hicks; and a sister, Susan (Steven) Day, of Crittenden. Lora will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her spirit will be carried on by those who were closest to her. Visitation will be held Saturday April 1, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:30pm with a memorial service to follow at Crossroads Church (Chapel), 828 Heights Blvd, Florence KY.
