Obituary
Condolences

Manfred Wolfgang Nicholaus Bosse, Master Gunnery Sergeant retired USMC, 80, of Burlington, KY passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. Nick was born in Bucharest, Romania on September 15, 1941. His father, Nicholaus Bosse, mother, Jenny Knabe-Bosse, brother, Roland Bosse as well as Nick, were brought to New York Harbor in August of 1952, by the United States Government, and they all became legal naturalized citizens. Nick graduated from Boonton High School in New Jersey and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps in 1958. Nick served two full tours in Vietnam along with numerous cruises and rotations of duty stations around the world. He had received several medals including; Navy Commendation/ Combat “V” (Heroic Action) in 1968, the Navy Achievement Medal/Combat “V” in 1969, as well as a Vietnam Service Medal. Nick was also the Marine Corps Recruiter for the OH, KY, IN Tristate from 1971-1975. He retired in 1985, after 27 years of service in the Corps. He relocated his family back to Boone County, KY in 1992. He was 100% disabled and struggled from the affects of Agent Orange the rest of his life and never changed his mind about his choice as a Marine. Although numerous honors, medals, and citations were prestigiously awarded throughout his career, he was always patriotic and faithful to God, the Corps, his country and family. Nick retired from Huff Realty in 2003. He remained an active member of Greenview Baptist Church until his health lapsed. He later transferred his membership to Union Presbyterian Church and received their blessings through home visits. Even after all of the hardships Nick had been through in his life, his faith remained strong and never waned. He was also an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, and a lifetime member of the VFW. Nick remained active with his Fox 2/7 Marine Vietnam comrades for the remainder of his life. His children, grandchildren, fishing, and his dogs brought him great joy in the later years of his life. He leaves behind the Love of his life and bride, who would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August, Alice Sue Bosse, a Boone County H.S. graduate. He is also survived by his loving daughters who he was immensely proud of; Susanne Bosse-Hemingway (Mike), Lorilee Bosse, and Debbie Bosse-Dudley (Rick), his beloved grandchildren; Hunter Kerzee, Amanda Papp (Shane Nonnenberg), Christian Knappins, Logan Dudley (Tabitha Lattie), Michael Hemingway, Nixon Hemingway (Chris Huerta), Kasey Hemingway, and Taylor Hemingway (Tatan Halcomb), his cherished great-grandson, Aiden Weeks-Barnitt, his brother, Roland Bosse, and several loving nieces and nephews. Services for Nick will be handled in private at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Ronald McDonald House at 341 Erkenbrecher Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229 or to Union Presbyterian Church at 10259 US-42, Union, KY 41091 in memory of Nick.

Nick will be missed

I had the honor to work for Nick as a Marine right before his retirement, and I enjoyed his wit later in life when I reconnected with him many years later. I’m very sorry to hear of his passing.
Semper Fi, Marine.

One of the Best

During my time in the Marine Corps, I had the privilege of working with many fine SNCOs. “Top” Bosse was at the top of the list. He was the epitome of a Marine leader. I am indebted to Nick for what I learned from him. There is no better indication of the value placed on Nick’s 27 years of service than his rise to the top enlisted rank. There have been many Marines wearing the chevrons but none better that Master Gunnery Sergeant Nick Bosse. Heaven’s guard detail just got a fine Marine. RIP, Top. Semper Fi.
Wayne Doyle, LtCol, USMC (Retired)

I enjoyed working with Nick at Huff Realty

I worked with Nick at Huff Realty for several years. I enjoyed being involved with Nick in real estate transactions. He had a sense of humor as I recall.
To his entire family our condolences in Nick’s passing
