Margaret “Peggy” Bell passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was 80 years old.

Peggy was born on February 22, 1943, in Queens, New York to Jim and Jean Ann Chase. She grew up in Western Pennsylvania. She attended The Ohio State University, ultimately graduating from North Carolina Wesleyan College. Peggy received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital of Johnstown. She spent the majority of her career at Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, working as a critical care nurse until she retired in 1998.

Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved bingo, Phase 10, the Game Show Network, Neil Diamond, and spending time with her family. She also had the most enviable collection of bells, spoons, and Tom Clarke gnomes.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jim Bell. She is survived by sons, Douglas Bell (Mary Kay) and Lance Bell (Melissa); grandchildren, Nicole Hall (Miller), Cooper Bell, Emily Bell, Connor Bell (Shayna), Lorin Bell; great-granddaughter, Mowery Hall; cousin, Barbara Gill, and countless friends from a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donating in Peggy’s name to the St. Elizabeth Foundation Hospice Programs, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, Kentucky, 41017.

A private family burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
