Mary Rita Jordan, 82, of Walton, Kentucky passed away at Boonespring Nursing Facility on Wednesday, January 3,2024.
Mary Rita was born in Covington, Kentucky on December 9, 1941, to the late Thomas and Catherine Jordan.
Mary Rita was a loving mother and grandmother. In her career she was a mental health nurse, whose passion was caring for the elderly and homeless. She loved dogs and helping others through dog therapy.
In addition to her parents, Mary Rita is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas “Buzz” Jordan, uncle and aunt Bill and Rita Snyder and her first husband, Paul L. Tagher, M.D.
Mary Rita is survived by her sons, Paul Tagher (May), Marc Tagher (Sandy), Dr. Robert Tagher (Gannon), daughters, Mimi Tagher (Mary Ellen Moore), Michele Ciolino (Bob) and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 5:00-7:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Kentucky 41005. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday January 9, 2024, at 11:30am at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 7301 Dixie Hwy, Florence, Kentucky 41042. Burial will be immediately following at Richwood Cemetery.

The Best High School Friend
Mary Rita was one of my best friends in high school. We rode the town bus together, went to the proms, got into trouble (not serious), played neighborhood soft ball, and hung out at the drug store with friends. She will always bring a smile to my face. Fond Memories
One of my memories about aunt Reet was from years ago, as a child. Marc, Rob, Greg and I all went fishing on the river with Babe, and I remember catching the biggest catfish of my life. I was so proud of it that I just HAD to take it home to show my mom and dad. Reet was such a good sport about it, and borrowed a cooler from Girlie and Babe and we transported a dead stinking catfish in the back of her station wagon all the way home. She had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy to everyone around her! She will be sorely missed. Love and hugs to all the family.
