Tribute to Mike

Tribute below is from Kathy Randolph.

Tribute to My Friend and Colleague, Mike

Such a loss. Mike was everything you would want in a co-worker and friend. Such a wonderful guy with a heart of gold. I had the privilege of working with Mike for the last 12+ years of my career with IRS. Mike was a true professional who treated everyone with a level of civility and honesty we should all aspire to. We are losing a wonderful guy and friend who earned every accolade that will be shared about him and more. He took such pride in delivering quality work, no matter the task. He was a member of what I called a “Dream Team” some years ago.

Mike was so much more than just a great teammate and friend. He was a confidant with impeccable style and taste. Mike had no pretense; he had no airs. He just liked what he liked. Whenever he traveled to Atlanta, we made sure to visit “Nancy’s Pizza” (one of his faves). It’s no surprise many of his colleagues became his friends over his many years of outstanding service at IRS.

I give thanks for having known Mike. I was blessed by every moment and I learned so much from him. I pray for Wayne, for whom he cared so much, was so proud of, and spoke of so often. I pray for his family and friends who will experience an irreplaceable loss at his passing.

And I resolve in Mike’s memory to live with more joy, more energy, more caring and more purpose. I will forever cherish my special retirement gift from Mike. He text me a few months ago to say how happy he was knowing I love my gift, as it is a token of our many years of friendship.

Our time here is too short. I love you, Mike!!

Sorry for you Loss

Sad to hear of the loss of such a wonderful person. I worked with Mike for a few years before he retired, he was always so friendly and willing to help. I could always go to Mike for assistance and never felt like it was a burden for him. I often wondered how he was doing and waited too long to connect again! His passing is a great loss for all! Hope the memory of the good times will help relieve some of the sadness of his passing. Gay Sohnrey

Sorry for your Loss!

Wayne, there is nothing you can do or say to make the pain go away after losing a loved one, we can only cherish the memories. For me growing up and spending time with Grandma and Mike at studio one working on pottery or coming to your guy’s house for holidays, those memories will always be there. We are wishing you comfort and peace during this difficult time. Justin and Melissa
