Tributes
Michael Emmett Woods, 64, of Ft. Wright, KY, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 3, 2015. He built his life on the principles of compassion, honesty and selflessness. Mike had a smile that would light up the room. His passion for acting and teaching was innate and he was privileged to share this gift with thousands of students throughout his lifetime. He brought life to many academic, athletic and theatrical programs at Newport Central Catholic, Villa Madonna Academy and Gray Middle School throughout his career. His passion for living had the power to rally volunteers, drive students to achieve their goals, and inspired a whole community to invest millions into building a new gymnasium and theatre for their children. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like
after someone has moved mountains, take a quick look at Mike. He’s an achiever and put his time, sweat equity and heart right into every project that he took part in. Mike was the guy that would be hammering the last nail into a theatre set 5 minutes before he was supposed to be on stage for the welcome speech at opening night. He was a giver, a leader and a life-changing inspiration to many. Mike was a loving, loyal and supportive brother, son, husband, father, grandfather, and all-around family man. He is a role model for how we should treat people. His compassion for others is what he is known for the most. He gave us his all, every day of his life. He will be missed, but his name and spirit will live on. Mike was a true gentleman and will be remembered. Those who truly knew him will carry his spirit forward and share his compassion with others, so that he may live in our hearts forever. Survived by his wife of 27 years Donna Flottman Woods, children, Matthew (Erika) and Michelle. Grandchildren Jacek and Luna Grace. Mother – in-Law, Ardyth Flottman.
