Paul Frederick Burgheim, 92, of Erlanger, KY, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. He retired as a Truck Parts Manager for General Motors Trucks, a longtime member of St. Henry Catholic Church, a member of the Holy Name Society, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, a veteran of the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, and a member of the Elsmere VFW. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Hilda Burgheim; his siblings, Mary Ann Lehmkuhl and Virginia Senneville. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Burgheim (nee Scheper); his children, Michael (Sheryl) Burgheim, Susan (Paul) Keam, James (Michelle) Burgheim, Barbara (Jeff) Klare, Douglas (Laura) Burgheim, and Nancy Cason. He also leaves behind his 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 9:30AM-11:30AM at St. Henry Catholic Church in Erlanger, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:30AM at the church. Burial at Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to: St. Henry Catholic Church 3813 Dixie Hwy. With Deepest Sympathy
We thought so much of Paul. He was a delightful, thoughtful man. We enjoyed talking to him at church and when he took his long walks past our house. Not long ago Paul said tell Art I miss seeing his petunias. We will miss him very much and believe he went straight to heaven. On behalf of

Dear Joan and members of the Burgheim family,
I am deeply moved to learn of Paul’s death. I first came to know him over 50 years ago when I was a high school seminarian at the old St. Pius X Seminary in Erlanger (on the Marydale property). For several summers I had a job in the parts department of Key GMC in Cincinnati and each day Paul, manager of the department, would pick me up at my home in Covington and take me to work and then return me each afternoon. He was unfailingly kind and patient to me, and to all he dealt with, so far as I could see.
After I became a priest, I would see him every once in awhile when I was asked to help out with a Mass at St. Henry Church. You can imagine my delight to re-connect with him after I was appointed pastor of St. Henry Parish in 1999.
Joan, your frequent attendance at daily Mass and your presence along with Paul on weekends was a great inspiration to me during my time at St. Henry. I regret that I am nearly a thousand miles away for the winter, and so cannot attend Paul’s funeral in person, but I will be there in spirit even as I offer Mass for him and all of you. I have every confidence that he already tests in the embrace of Our Lord.
