Richard T. Berling passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Wogenstahl Berling, for 60 years. The beloved father of David Berling (Phyllis), Susan Berling Johnson (Tim), Lisa Berling Jobe (Brian), and Robert Berling (Melissa). The loving grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 6. Dear brother of Arthur Berling, Grace Dillion, and Margaret Shepard. He was preceded in death by his siblings Ralph and Tom Berling, and Mary Ann Wind. Richard served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Upon leaving the service he worked at General Electric Apparatus Shop for 40 years. He was a member of St. Henry Church and the Holy Name Society. Richard enjoyed hunting, helping coach little league baseball, and was an avid sports fan. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 5:30pm until 8pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 10am at St. Henry Church, in Elsmere. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, in Ft. Mitchell, KY. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Henry Church Building Fund, 3813 Dixie Hwy. Elsmere, KY 41018.
