Tributes
LAKESIDE PARK – Robert P. Hinkel, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at St. Elizabeth Edgewood.He was a retired U.S. postal worker, a retired Sgt. Major of the U.S. Army Reserves, a Korean War Army veteran, a Green Beret, a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell, a member of the Covington Turners, co-founder of the Blessed Sacrament Boosters and the Blessed Sacrament corn roast.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Hinkel, of Lakeside Park; daughters, Diane Comp and Denise Cenedella, both of Villa Hills, Donna Hinkel of Crestview Hills; son, Dennis Hinkel of Edgewood; sister, Viola Hinkel of Fort Mitchell and brother, John Hinkel of Lexington.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, with services to follow at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger.
A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell. Cremains will be interred following the memorial Mass at St. John Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, with a reception to be held immediately following the memorial Mass in the church undercroft.
