Tributes
Ronald P. Cooney of Ryland, 72, died on Sunday, Sept. 5th at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. He retired as President of PNC Bank, Northern Kentucky. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Flick Cooney, with whom he was married for 49 years; daughters, Jena (John) Meehan, of Fort Wright, and Lisa (Tony) Cooney Henderson of Ft. Wright; Son, Scott (Sheila) Cooney of Lakeside Park; brother, Michael Cooney of Villa Hills; sister, Sylvia Wagner of Independence; and nine grandchildren, Aaren and Cullen Meehan, Jacob and Avery Henderson, Emily, Sean, Caroline, Claire, and Isabella Cooney. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9th with Mass of Christian Burial following at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. A reception will follow the Mass in the Church undercroft. Committal prayers and military honors will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10th at St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, with a reception following the burial at the Cooney residence. Memorials to: St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017; Covington Catholic High School, 1600 Dixie Hwy, Park Hills, KY 41011-2797; or Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills, KY 41011.
