Scott Marx

Obituary
Condolences

Scott Marx, 63, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, June 16, 2023, at his residence in Villa Hills, KY.

Scott was an amazing man.  He had a heart of gold and made sure whoever was in his presence was taken care of and having a great time.  He loved living life and lived it to the fullest.  He was the life of every party. No matter the situation, Scott would always make the best of it. In his spare time, he loved to hunt, fish, four wheel and boat at their family lake house on Norris Lake.  This was Scott’s happy place.  He married the love of his life, Diane, in 1981.  They had three wonderful children and then came their grandkids, who stole his heart.  They were his pride and joy.  Scott was previously self-employed but retired. He also enjoyed playing golf in the men’s league at Devou Park Golf Course.  Scott touched so many lives and was a loving husband, father, Pops, and friend.  For all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him, they will miss his presence beyond measure.

Preceding him in death are his sister, Debi Kathman, and mother-in-law, LaVerne Toebben.

Those left here to carry on his great legacy are his beautiful wife of 41 years, Diane Toebben Marx; children, Annelies (Justin) Seiter, Brent (Emily) Marx, Cynthia Marx; grandchildren, Tripp, Jayna, Ben, Jack, Scotty; three sisters and many nieces and nephews.  Scott also leaves behind his dad, John (Danielle) Marx; Mom, Dorothy Hardin and father-in-law, Matth. Toebben.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.  A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday June 21, 2023, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church 3612 Church St. Covington, KY 41015 at 10:00 AM.  Scott will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Scott’s name to the Norris Lake Litter Gitter.  Checks made payable to above and mailed to 957 Whitman Hollow Rd., LaFollette, TN 37766.  For Venmo use: @Litter-Gitter.

Diane & Family

Over the years Scott and I had many conversations- some fun but mostly about our families! He was so very proud of his! He had such a big personality and was so easy to talk to. I know he will be missed by so many including myself! I wish for the family to find peace and happiness. Arlene Shuller
