Tributes
After battling a long illness, Skyler Stiltner, age 36 of Burlington, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022 while in hospice care at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Skyler was born to Benjamin Stiltner and Gail Hollenkamp on June 24, 1985 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He had a strong interest in history and enjoyed watching documentaries and educational series on The History Channel. He was also very technologically savvy and loved computers. He loved animals, particularly his dog and long time companion, Flops. Skyler was always kind, considerate of others, caring, and warm hearted. Skyler loved his family dearly and dreamed of being able to spend more time with his two brothers and his nieces and nephew. Those who knew him personally could feel his loving spirit. He was always very respectful towards his parents. Before his illness progressed, he also enjoyed nature, being outdoors, and walking his dog.
Skyler is preceded in death by his grandparents; Frank and Ruby Stiltner, and Harold “Holly” and Eleanor “Ellie” Hollenkamp.
He is survived by his father, Benjamin Stiltner, his mother, Gail Hollenkamp, his brothers; Ryan (Carol) and Evan Bihl, two nieces; Libby Bihl and Mallory Bihl, his nephew; Charlie Bihl, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation for Skyler will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Barbara church from 6:00-7:00PM with a Mass to follow at 7:00PM.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI PO Box 49104 Baltimore, MD 21297 – or online) or to St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.
