Stacy Deanne Scherder

Obituary
Condolences

Stacy Deanne Scherder, 53, passed away unexpectedly Saturday July 22, 2023, at St Elizabeth Medical center in Edgewood, KY as a result of complications she experienced from a major leg injury she sustained earlier this summer.

Stacy had a spirit like no other.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, therapist, advocate and teacher.  She was loyal and loving.  She was protective and kind.  She had an empathetic heart and a great sense of humor. She was inquisitive, a history buff, a straight shooter and a friend to all. She was charismatic, creative and the best gift giver.  She loved to laugh, she smiled a lot and she loved to make people happy.

She was always looking to grow personally and professionally.  She worked as an advocate for the elderly in several nursing homes, achieved her masters of social work, worked as an adolescent therapist, became licensed in holistic healing, served as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University and dreamed of starting her own practice to focus on the mental health of the elderly.

She was the soul mate and perfect match for her best friend and husband, Ryan. Their time together was spent traveling the world, playing video games, being with family and friends, hosting dinner parties, taking up new hobbies like scuba diving and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. They found the beauty in each other. Their marriage and friendship were a blessing for all to witness.

Stacy had a servant heart and was always looking to help those in need, especially those who were the most vulnerable.  She opened her home and heart to anyone. She made the world better. She was one of a kind and will be loved forever.

Stacy was preceded in death by her parents William and Judy Penn. Survivors include her husband Ryan Scherder, daughter Rylie (Issac) Sanders, mother Maria Penn, sister Rebecca (Walter) Watson, brother Michael (Gleah) Lyons, brother Randall (Sheri) Lyons, mother in-law Margaret Scherder, sister in-law Meghan (Matt) Olson and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving a granddaughter Izabella Sanders. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 26, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St Joseph Catholic Church in Crescent Springs, KY. Memorial contributions can be made to Northern Kentucky Aging and Disability Resource Center 22 Spiral Drive, Florence, KY 41042 or Safe Aging Coalition of Northern Kentucky 503 Centre View Blvd. Building 22, Crestview Hills, Kentucky 41017. ,

Will Miss you!

I left Stacy a message a couple of weeks ago, not realizing she passed away. Stacy was my intern manager when I was in school for my MSW. She was so nice and friendly, always willing to help, even after I graduated I worked with her for a while. She would always respond to my texts, oh how I’ll miss her smiling face.

Your light lives on in those lives you touched

I found out a few weeks ago that you passed away. I never met you, in fact, I had no idea that you were my daughter’s therapist, our neighbor, and even a person in our subdivision Facebook page that I last shared a caring emoji with. I cannot tell you in person or send you a card now, but I want your family to know that because of your work and loving kindness, I feel you saved my young daughter. She has dealt with depression for years, and you brightened her day and listened without bias. She needed counsel and you accepted her as your patient. Thank you for being a light for my child when I couldn’t pull her from the darkness on my own. May your soul rest in peace and I hope to meet you on the other side to personally shake your hand.

Saved me from myself

Stacy, literally saved my life. When I was down she was my biggest fan and supporter. When I had no one she was my best friend. She knew me better than myself and I did things and didn’t do others so that she would be proud of me. My loss is so great I cannot imagine yours. My only comfort is I know she will continue to want only the best for me and I will honor her by doing that.
p.s I’m crying like a baby and she knew I hated that – so she’s smiling at me from above.

I loved stacy

I loved Stacy as a therapist and counselor, she never had a cross word to me. She was so loyal and faithful, a servant heart simple. She was taken way too soon. I’ll greatly miss her and always love her. Chris Homan

Gaming friend

It absolutely broke my heart to hear Stacy had passed. I will always remember her for the kindness she showed me without having ever met me in person. She will always be the person I think of when someone talks about a guild mom, because she was. She cared for everyone and made sure everyone was taken care of and had fun. She made a lasting impression on me and I have tried to spread that same kindness to those I meet. I will miss our occasional check ins in game, you always remembered every detail even though they weren’t often. Thank you for the many days and nights you spent playing games with me, I have so many memories I have treasured. You will always be missed. – Mike (Gert)

Always a Friend

Stacy you will be so missed!!!! You never got to do a card reading with me. We had talked about after your surgery. You were such an inspiration and made me want to be a better person. We worked together only for a year, however that was long enough to call you my friend. your smile and laugh was contagious and your heart was huge. God needed you more than this world did, the reason for that I am not sure. But you will be missed and your sweet soul will be remebered. Fly high Stacy!!!

Friend

Stacy was one of the most genuine ppl. I’ve met on earth. When I think of Stacy I think of nothing but good things because Stacy cared about everyone and would do anything to make your day better and would ask “what can I do to help?” And really meant it! She was the example of having a servant ❤She would listen and not judge. She was a calm in this storm of life and the word will be less without her in it. Until we meet again sweet girl….

Condolences

I received the sad news of Stacey’s passing yesterday. I am so sorry to hear. I kept in touch with Stacey even after leaving St. Elizabeth Care Coordination. She was really one of the good ones, really expressed dedication to her field. I just remember stressed or not, she was smiling, laughing and a little sassy. She will be missed and certainly a light extinguished from this community.
