Timothy “Tim” Dale Greene, 72, of Elsmere, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. He was born May 29, 1951 in Covington, KY. Tim proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Following his time in the service, Tim came home and went to work for the Elsmere Police Department. Tim dedicated 32 years to the City of Elsmere Police and worked his way up in the ranks to become the Police Chief. He served as Chief for 16 years before his retirement. He was also a proud member of the F.O.P, and was a past president of the Erlanger Lions Club. Tim was a loyal, hardworking and generous man. He was also very faithful and he was a member of St. Augustine Parish in Covington, KY. Tim was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his best times were spent with his family and his grandson Corbin. Tim enjoyed collecting coins, and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He was a loving man and those he leaves behind will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Celine Greene and his brother, Kevin Greene. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Lonna Greene, children: Kama and Jon, stepchildren: Todd, Brad and Krista, siblings: Terry Greene and Colleen Hahnel (Bob), Uncle Ron Neff, grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held for Tim on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Augustine Church, 1839 Euclid Avenue, Covington, KY 41014. Tim will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY following the Mass. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Augustine Church at the address listed above.
