Tributes
William Thomas Imhoff of Union, Kentucky, age 64, passed away May 11, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Prior to retirement, Tom had made a home for his family in Anderson Twp., Ohio. There, he and Linda, his wife of forty-two years, spent most of their married life raising their three children as active members of the community and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Tom embraced life fully, but outside the spotlight. He never served in the military but was extremely proud of family members and others that devoted themselves to protecting the freedoms he enjoyed. Until his retirement in 2020, Tom was a successful businessman and salesman, appreciated by both colleagues and customers for his honesty and integrity. He was also an accomplished and respected high school basketball state championship official.
In his younger years, Tom was a talented baseball pitcher and later enjoyed sharing his passion for the game while coaching his children and grandchildren. He was a fixture in the dugout or on the sidelines cheering them on at their events. As a parent, grandparent, and coach, he took pride in leading by example and placed a high value on having a strong work ethic. He dedicated countless hours of his time to helping anyone who put forth the effort and demonstrated unending patience and encouragement. Tom had a playful and competitive nature, but to him, sportsmanship was always honorable.
Throughout his brief battle with a painful cancer, Tom remained strong in his faith and felt his life had been truly blessed. He was ever grateful for the support of family, friends, and caregivers. Tom brought a tremendous amount of happiness to the world around him, but nothing captured it better than the way he would light up seeing or talking about his family, especially his grandchildren. Tom’s love for his wife and family was selfless, unconditional, and fiercely loyal. His family will miss and always remember his generous hugs, laughing eyes, gentle words, and abundantly kind heart.
Tom is survived by: his wife, Linda; children: Brian(Sandy) Imhoff, Becky(Scott) Evans, & Eric(Lauren) Imhoff and six grandchildren. Also his parents: Bill & Dorothy Imhoff; sister, Cindy(Rick) Tanner; In-laws who cherished him as a son and brother as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
