“A place for everything and everything in its place.” On August 4, 2017, Wayne Perry, age 91, of Erlanger found his place with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a steadfast and strong man. Wayne was born on September 15, 1925 in Fiskburg, KY and proudly served his country in World War II as a second-class petty officer in the Navy, living and working on the U.S.S. Midway. After the Navy, he became an Audiologist and worked for Sears for over 30 years. He faithfully stood by his wife, Marguerite longer than 70 years and became the father of four children. Wayne’s strong faith led him to serve his community by joining Gideons International. He also served on several local church boards, was a Sunday School Director, and was and a longstanding member of Christ’s Chapel in Erlanger. A hard work ethic drove Wayne to do so much for his job and community but his family always came first. More than anything, he wanted to be a good father and husband — a goal which he accomplished. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Cecil Perry; son, Phillip Wayne Perry; four brothers, Elroy, Bernie, Dave and Elmo Perry. He is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite; three children, Sandra Perry, Stephen (Patricia) Perry and Douglas (Laurie) Perry; two brothers, Carl and James (Sharon) Perry; sister, Velma Hiatt; 11 grandchildren, Darren (Katie) Perry, Jessica (Chris) Kerr, Amanda (Brad) Wands, Kevin Schroeder, Jordan (Amelia) Schroeder, Aaron (Yamileth) Perry, Jason Perry, Curtis Perry, Christine (Vince) Adams, Ethan Perry and Jacob Perry; 13 great-grandchildren, Brittany Schroeder, Debbie Schroeder, Taylor Schroeder, Katie Kerr, Julia Kerr, Ryan Kerr, Austin Wands, Tyler Wands, Ashley Wands, Makenzie Adams, David Adams, Luke Adams, Vinny Adams and one more on the way. Visitation is 11AM – 1PM on Wednesday, August 9 at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger. A service of celebration will follow the visitation. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, followed by a reception at 3PM at Christ’s Chapel at 3819 Turfway Rd, Erlanger. Memorial gifts can be made to Christ’s Chapel in Wayne’s name at 3819 Turfway Rd. Erlanger, KY 41018.
