Condolences

William “Bill” D. Hillmann, Esq. of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed peacefully on November 30, 2020. Born in NYC, Bill served stateside in the Army during the Korean war, graduated from Cornell University (restaurant management), and later from NKU, Chase Law School. Bill worked in restaurants in NY and Northern Kentucky. Subsequently, he practiced law locally for many years. He was one of the lead plaintiff’s counsel in the Beverly Hills fire class action litigation. Bill loved sports. He played basketball for years at the Wade YMCA in Covington, and later played tennis for many years at Five Seasons. He played until he could no longer play. He deeply enjoyed his friends. He delighted in his family.  He had an appreciation for good food, drink, cooking, and entertaining. He was passionate about politics. He liked being home where he prodigiously consumed books, newspapers, magazines and watched TV. He had a dry wit, was generous, and loathed being sick for even a day. He relished life.Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Tapp Hillmann, Esq. and their children, son Alex, daughter-in-law, Rachel, and daughter, Dulce Maria.  He is also survived by his sister, Joan Thomsen; daughter, Kathy, son-in-law, Bob, and grandchildren Sarah, Bobby, Megan, grandson-in-law, Bob, and great-grandson, Charlie; son, David, daughter-in-law, Krista, and grandchildren Jimmy and Abby, son, Jim, daughter-in-law, Holly, and grandchildren, Grant and Claudia.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathryn Hillmann, brother Richard Hillmann, and son, Craig Hillmann. Due to Bill’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
