Yukiko Muroe, 52, of Burlington, KY, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY, with her husband Gil at her side. She was employed by Toyota Motor Sales, working at the NAPCK for over 20 years. She was a yoga teacher at Move Your Body fitness in Erlanger for more than 6 years.
A well-known ceramic artist, Yuki earned a Master of Fine arts degree from Ohio State University in 1997. Prior to employment at Toyota Motor Sales she exhibited her clay sculptural work throughout the United States and taught art in a variety of institutions around the Midwest. Her and her husband’s home in Boone county was a long-time gathering place for artists, friends and family for many years and she will be remembered for introducing many to the culinary delights of Japan.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Aki Muroe.
Yuki leaves behind her husband of 24 years, Gil Stengel; her parents, Masatomo and Junko Muroe; and her brother, Masataka Muroe.
She also will be missed by Gil’s family, Brad Stengel, Tracey Butler, Dr. Jennifer Wentworth and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, students and coworkers around the world.
A private celebration of her life will be held at her home at a later date.
Her family would especially like to extend thanks to those who selflessly cared for her in her last months, Didem Mert, Ezra Kellerman and the caregivers at St. Elizabeth’s hospital and hospice center.
